Hydropower is electricity generated by the force of moving water. Turbines are used to capture the kinetic energy of water by converting it to electricity as the falling water spins the turbine.
Hydropower’s low cost, near-zero emissions, and ability to be dispatched quickly to meet peak electricity demand have made it one of the most valuable renewable energy sources worldwide, accounting for around 17 percent of the world’s total electricity generation.
Able Energy are experts in designing, installing and operating the small hydro power plants, ranging from 200W to 2.5MW capacity. Our systems utilise some of the best turbines in the market, including:
- Toshiba Hydro e-KIDS turbines (Japan)
- Sulzer hydro turbines (Switzerland)
- PowerSpout hydro turbines (New Zealand)
